What to tell us
To quote you accurately in one message rather than three, include:
- Your full name, including any previous surnames or maiden names.
- Where you are now — in South Africa, or which country you are living in.
- Which country the certificate is for. This determines whether you need an apostille, embassy attestation, or neither.
- Any deadline you are working to, such as a visa appointment date.
- How many applicants, if this is for a group or a company.
We will come back with the total cost and a realistic timeline. If we think you are starting too early — certificates are commonly required to be under six months old — we will say so rather than take the order.
Sending us documents
Once we have confirmed what you need, you will courier us your completed SAPS fingerprint form and a certified copy of your identity document. We will give you the delivery address and, if you are abroad, a short note you can hand to whoever takes your fingerprints so the set is done correctly the first time.
Do not send original identity documents. A certified copy is what is required.
Before you get in touch
Two things worth knowing, so nobody wastes anybody's time:
We are a private document service, not the police. We cannot influence what a criminal record check returns, and we cannot make the SAPS Criminal Record Centre go faster. What we do is make sure the application is right before it is lodged, keep it moving, and collect it the day it is ready.
You are also entitled to apply directly to SAPS yourself at no service cost. People use us to avoid the queueing and follow-up, and because a rejected submission costs weeks. That is a fair trade for some people and not for others, and you should choose with that in front of you.
