What you get for R2,450

One fee covers the work we do: checking your paperwork before it goes in, submitting your application to the SAPS Criminal Record Centre, following it up, and collecting the certificate once SAPS issues it.

Two things sit outside that fee, and we would rather say so plainly than advertise a "no hidden fees" flat rate and surprise you later:

Going abroad? Do the apostille in the same run

A South African police clearance is usually only half the job. If you are submitting it to a foreign government — for a visa, residency, registration or employment — that government needs proof the certificate is genuine. For countries in the Hague Convention that proof is an apostille; for the rest it is embassy attestation.

More than half the people who come to us for a police clearance need it legalised too. Doing both in one run means your document does not travel back and forth, and you are not starting a second process from scratch a month later.

Apostille of your police clearance is R1,650. Tell us the destination country when you start and we will confirm whether an apostille is enough or the document needs embassy attestation as well.

If SAPS rejects your application, we re-do it at half price

Applications are sometimes rejected for reasons no agent controls — fingerprints that fail the SAPS optical scanner, gaps in older police records, a maiden name that was never captured. It is uncommon, but it happens.

If SAPS rejects your application and you send us corrected paperwork within 30 calendar days, we re-submit for 50% of our admin fee. The discount applies to our fee only — government fees and courier are charged again at cost, because we pay those out.

Applying from outside South Africa

You do not need to fly home. Have your fingerprints taken at a local police station, or at a South African embassy or consulate, on the SAPS fingerprint form. Courier the completed form and a certified copy of your ID or passport to us, and we handle the South African end.

We return the finished certificate — apostilled if you need it — to any address worldwide.

Beyond the certificate

Apostille and legalisation

Apostille for Hague Convention countries, or full embassy attestation for the rest. R1,650 for an apostille on your clearance certificate.

Criminal record expungement

If a minor offence is on your record and enough time has passed, it may be eligible for expungement. R6,450. Ask us and we will tell you honestly whether you qualify before you pay anything.
